Starving Children as a Disciplinary Measure - Is it Wise?
Something
struck my mind while I was going through some of the training measures
suggested under the latest post (in the sister group of this blog - "Heart Clinic with 'Nido" on facebook), which I would like us to consider. When
children err, one of the disciplinary methods many parents resort to is
to starve the child. And you will hear things like, "I'm not going to
feed you today and I will make sure you don't take any food from this
house to school today! You better go and look for where to get your food
for the next three (3) days because there is nothing for you in this
house not even pocket money! Let hunger teach you a lesson..." and so
on"
Now, my question is, have you experienced this before? Whether
your answer is "Yes" or "No", would you encourage such measure,
considering the possible consequences? Would you also treat your
children same way?
