Why do you #Praise? Is it only because of what he has done for you? Those things you #tag GOOD? Or do you #worship Him for who He is; because of His great #FAITHFULNESS? If you worship #God only when things are smooth for you and when things are rough, you go on holidays; then… I’m afraid... I remember vividly those years when I used to hear… that #VOICE – daunting, taunting & #CRUEL! Always asking me for sufficient or pleasant #reasons to praise (NOW); I’m talking about those times when the #vision is blurred and the #heart #bleeds; when it is hard to utter the words, “GOD IS GOOD.” (You’re familiar with such times) You know this few words (GOD IS GOOD), simple as they appear, could be very heavy to utter! At times, you’d choose to throw them away! “Who cares! Where was God when all these were happening to me? … To hell with them!” (That’s what the attitude screams! Some people even shout it!) But by the mercies and grace of God, I learnt a lesson from Job, after he received the woeful news and all hell broke loose! What did he do? (Job 1:20-22)
“… Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said, ‘Naked I came from my mother’s #womb, and #naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the #LORD be praised.’ IN ALL THIS, JOB DID NOT #SIN by charging God with wrongdoing.”
At this period, #Job was as good as dead for the #fire burning in his bones –he had just lost virtually EVERYTHING! But wisdom taught him that with God -as long as He stayed glued to God, HE COULD #RECOVER ALL in #SURPLUS! Wow! I got it! I got the secret of REAL #JOY! That’s it! So my eyes became opened –heart leaping for joy & eyes lit in #amazement. I knew deep within that I FOUND A #TREASURE –a part NO ONE CAN TAKE FROM ME!
Do you know your worship or praise is not just a means of #appreciation of what you receive? It’s beyond that! We #owe Him our worship –the #totality of our life! WORSHIP is YOUR DUTY! “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love #mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8) #Fear God, keep His #commandments –that’s the WHOLE #DUTY OF MAN! (Eccl. 12:13)
And guess what? Since I got it right, there’s another voice I’ll call it #NEW –still, small but loving! You know what it says to me? “My #grace is #sufficient for you.” O my God! Don’t go yet; there’s another…
“If you faint in the day of #adversity, your strength is small.” (Proverbs 24:10) Wow!
So I challenge you friend, with the NEW LIVING TRANSLATION version of same verse,
“If you fail under #pressure, your #strength is too small.”
If you stand up under it, by His grace, even in the midst of #pains or #tears… you can praise God. The time of #troubles should push us closer to God -it’s the time to worship Him more #intensely! Yes, WE CAN! Satan, shame unto you!
OUR GOD REIGNS!!!
*Let us always remember, we cannot just worship God at will; WE WERE MADE TO #FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD –THAT’S WORSHIP! It is our DUTY… OUR LIFE, OUR ALL!
