Phew! Thank God it's Friday! :)
Hi there! How's been your week? Another weekend is here! Great! And I’m sure many of us will be preparing to attend weddings tomorrow… ;) Perhaps a relative’s or friend’s wedding; Okay.... meanwhile, let’s consider something about one of the usual practices in wedding ceremonies -PRESENTATION OF GIFTS Hmmm... interesting, isn't it?
So what about it? okay... Let’s take a short stroll through some instances that should lead us to the question I’m about to ask. So we go!
A friend of mine was planning his wedding and just some few weeks before the wedding, another friend of his came visiting; on his move out of my friends room, he left these words with him (my friend), “I’m coming to your wedding with a gift for you… make sure you reserve my own gift for me; whatever you’re going to share.” At another wedding, a woman went after the bride’s brother, after the wedding ceremony had ended to demand for her own gift because she dropped a gift for the couple. Yet another wedding – I overhead someone complaining to his friends, “How can I come to a wedding and will not go home with a gift… After I spent my money, I sprayed them when they danced, I also gave them a gift! And what do I have to show for all these?”
Hmmm... ??? Now, the question is this –
"IS IT COMPULSORY THE COUPLE OR FAMILY MEMBERS TO GIVE OUT GIFTS TO THE GUESTS AT A WEDDING CEREMONY?"
Let's talk, friends. What do you think?
